Wrapping the Summer up
Hey Kiddo,
Don’t blink or you’ll miss it. That’s just about one more summer in the books– your first day of grade 4 is next week. We’ve been busy
Camping #
We got a bit of camping in at Fitzroy Harbour Provincial Park. This is an interesting camping site– it is less than an hour away from where we live. It is technically still within the city limits of Ottawa!
You wouldn’t know it though, it was lovely. The camp site is just below an OPG dam on the Ottawa river.
We were there with Talia and her parents, and then on the following day, Fiona and her family. You’ve done camps before with Fiona– you guys all played very well together.
The additional think we brought on this camping trip was Mum’s Kayak! It makes packing the car a little trickier, but it was fun to have 2 kayaks to paddle around with.
The water is really shallow in Fitzroy Harbour. We were able to see a bunch of turtles while we were out.
Hiking #
An activity you’ve recently acquired a taste for (while in Labelle with your cousins) is hiking. You’ve asked us for some hard hikes, and we’ve obliged.
We did the Luskville Falls hike up Gatineau Parks escarpment, and we did a hike around Lac Phillipe. It feels great to go on these hikes, and even better that we can do them as a family.
Otherwise, you’re wringing out the rest of the summer by participating in dance intensives this week in order to prepare you for your auditions for dance this Fall. You’ve put a lot of work in and we’re hopeful that you’ll get in. We also still need to get a fish into the kayak🙁
Keep on Kiddo, you’re doing great. With all our love, Mum & Dad
