Starting the School Year

·2 mins

Hey Kiddo,

Competitive Dance #

We’ve heard back from Kali Andrew’s Dance Company– you’ve been admitted to competitive dance for the year! You are so excited! Almost as excited as Mom!

We’re very proud of you– it took a lot of work to get here, and you made it. Now the real hard work begins. You’re going to do great.

Grade 4 Frosh Week #

You’re well on your way with grade 4. We took you up this year, and were told to beat it pretty quickly after we figured out who your teacher is– Mme Kahina. The varied and selected pieces of information that you deign to give your parents indicate that you are happy in your classroom.

You and the usual suspects are bouncing between houses these days– activities haven’t really started up, and after school each day entails one kids house getting mobbed. The work and activities will start up soon enough and you guys are making the most of these lazy days at the start of the year.

Labour Day Oma Birthday #

Oma’s birthday is often right around the Labour Day weekend as it was this year. Oma was up and we celebrated her well with a BBQ. Gill, Don, and Uncle Terry made it over for a lovely evening.

On the following morning you were off and away with the gang for a night at Annie and Evie’s cottage on the Resevoir just up in Quebec. You guys got some great weather and were swimming, canoeing, and jumping off rocks!

Lane Swimming #

As a compromise for not doing Powerswim this session, you have agreed to do lane swimming with me. Boring, pounding water, lane swim. So far you seem to like it.

We’ve brought Evie in as well, she also really likes going out and doing laps. So this has become a bit of an outing. We’ll see if it survives once all the schedules start up, but it is fun for now.

You’re doing great kiddo, it is busy busy busy here, but we’re handling it well. Keep on kiddo, you’re doing great! With all you love, Mum & Dad
