To the Sea

Palavas-les-Flots #

Hey Kiddo,

We’ve made it down to Montpellier and took a cab to Palavas-les-Flots– the beachside fishing village just below Montpellier. Our second floor apartment is air conditioned, and it is glorious! France continues to be in canicule, and being able to sleep comfortably is fantastic. There are quite a few deaths accruing from people trying to cool off in water that is unsafe or with swimming skills that are insufficient.

Palavas-les-Flots is lovely. Add another sea to your list of seas and Oceans– now you’ve been in the: Altantic, Carribean, Baltic, Pacific, and now the Mediterranean.

We bicycled in to Montpellier proper yesterday to check out the old town. Mum nearly quit on us, but we made it. Along the way we saw a couple cool birds in the estuaries– even mum was interested! Though, she didn’t think the Great Flamingoes were pink enough😜 Neither mum nor I were moving particularly fast this morning, but you slept past 11am! A preview of teenage years to come?
